A STOLEN car was found dumped at a property on Junabee Road at Junabee last Thursday, 1 August.
Warwick Police were appealing for witnesses who may have seen two people hitch-hiking or walking along Junabee Rd at around noon to 2pm.
Warwick Police Senior Sergeant Stewart Day said the Nissan Skyline was reported stolen from Gla-Nor Street in Stanthorpe.
Snr Sgt Day said police spotted the car heading towards Warwick, when its driver took off.
“Police chose not to pursue the vehicle as it was deemed dangerous,” he said.
Snr Sgt Day said the vehicle was later found with several scratches down right-hand side panels.
“The scratches could indicate that the vehicle was involved in an accident,” he said.
“Police would like anyone with information to come forward and help identify those responsible.”
Police are continuing to investigate the matter with assistance from the vehicle’s owner.
Anyone with related information that could assist police are encouraged to phone Warwick Police on (07) 4660 4444 or Police Link 131 444.
