Looking out and looking in

By JONATHON HOWARD

ARTISTS from the Borderline Regional Arts Association have banded together once again to bring one of the most striking exhibitions yet to grace the Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery space.

Titled ‘Looking Out: Looking In’ this exhibition promises some very unique interpretations on that theme from 34 gifted artists.
Artists from both sides of the border will converge on Stanthorpe during late July and all of August – and it’s not to do battle over the footy!
Borderline is a collection of artists from NSW and Queensland. Most members are involved in the visual arts and work in all manner of media. The group is open to anyone who has an interest in art from the novice to the experienced, and those who just want to be involved in the art scene.
These talented artists from all walks of life will bring their collective works to the wider audience. Paintings feature prominently, but there are also some unique textiles, prints and drawings, ceramics and much more.
With more than 140 individual artworks going on display this week, visitors will be in for some surprises. Many of the artworks will be for sale, so it could be a good time to get in early and find a special Christmas present among the goodies on show.
Be prepared for a display that highlights the individual artistic impressions by each artist on the theme of looking out and looking in. This exhibition will delight and inspire even the most hardened art critics.
‘Looking Out: Looking In’ runs from 25 July to 1 September.
Gallery opening hours are from 10am to 4pm Tuesday to Friday, and weekends from 10am to 1pm.
