Supporting our volunteers

BUNNINGS are out to raise funds for local volunteer fire brigades and emergency services through their annual Aussie Day Weekend Fund-raiser barbecue, held at all stores on Saturday 23 January.
Warwick residents are invited to celebrate Australia Day and support the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) by heading down to Bunnings Warwick between 9am and 4pm, to buy a snag or make a donation.
Team members will be running sausage sizzles with support from fire brigade and emergency services volunteers, with every cent raised going directly to support the QFES.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Deputy Commissioner, Mike Wassing, said he is thrilled that Bunnings is continuing to support local volunteer fire brigades and emergency services through this great initiative.
“QFES volunteers such as those from the State Emergency Service and the Rural Fire Service are dedicated members who contribute significantly to supporting Queensland communities before, during and after disasters,” he said.
“It is really great to see when the community return the favour by helping to fund-raise. This support enables the continued improvement of our volunteer services,” Mike said.
Bunnings Warwick Store Manager, Debby Stevens, said the Aussie Day Weekend Fund-raiser barbecue is a terrific way for team members and all Australians to show their appreciation for the wonderful work done by local volunteer fire brigades and emergency services.
“The team is really excited to get behind the barbecue to help raise vital funds for our local QFES,” said Debby.
Family activities, fun games and entertainment will also be held throughout the day.
The barbecue is on Saturday 23 January at Bunnings Warwick, 43 Palmerin Street. Phone 4661 1133 for details
