United voice against family violence

Safe Haven president Bette Bonney and SDRC Councillor Neil Meiklejohn.

THE Zonta Club of Warwick recently held their violence against women breakfast at the Warwick RSL.
The reception from the community was outstanding with 160 people in attendance including representatives from local business, government organisations, churches, schools and sporting clubs.
Guest speakers included District Crime Prevention co-ordinator Wendy Brooks and Domestic and Family Violence co-ordinator for Warwick Division Shane Reid, both from Queensland Police.
Information packs were provided to all attending the breakfast. Information included brochures on DV Connect, and Domestic Violence Action Centre (4617 7670) which provide services in Warwick and Stanthorpe.
Zonta Club of Warwick Inc president Jacinta Fromm said it was great turnout.
“The event was generously supported by local businesses and community members,” she said.
