AGED care in the Southern Downs has copped a battering lately but there is one facility that will be going nowhere.
Regency Park Retirement Village in Warwick has had a change of ownership with Queensland-based seniors living provider Churches of Christ Care now managing the property.
The organisation is a not-for-profit operator in control of 19 retirement villages throughout Queensland and Victoria.
Director of Seniors and Supported Living Bryan Mason welcomed Regency Park residents and staff.
“We look forward to continuing and enhancing the lifestyle and services provided within this quality retirement community,” Mr Mason said.
“Regency Park is a premier facility that we are proud to be associated with and furthers our commitment to the Southern Downs region.”
Mr Mason said this acquisition complemented care already provided to Southern Downs locals through its Warwick-based Community Care services.
Churches of Christ Care operates Stanthorpe’s 38-bed Villa Carramar and 64-bed Carramar Hostel Aged Care Services.
The organisation also manages 35 National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS) properties in the region.
Adding Regency Park’s 91 independent living units, and existing plans for more seniors living at the Regency Boulevard location, the organisation has invested heavily in local aged care.
“Churches of Christ Care is committed to building a long-term future of care for the region,” Mr Mason said.
“With aged care development opportunities available onsite and our 85 years of care experience, we are well placed to serve Warwick and the Southern Downs region.”
Construction on eight additional units is ready to commence at Regency Park while the organisation is considering plans for residential aged care at the Warwick site, consistent with its integrated communities model of seniors living.
