Kilos of cannabis seized

The street value of the seizure is believed to be as high as $100,000.

POLICE discovered a large quantity of cannabis after stopping a vehicle on the Cunningham Highway on Saturday afternoon.
The incident occurred about 1.15pm in Warwick after officers intercepted a four-wheel drive and conducted a search of the vehicle. They then located sealed packages concealed beneath the vehicle’s floor.
Police said that as much as 12 kilograms of cannabis was located during the search. It is one of the largest seizures recorded in the region after a similar 10 kilogram seizure in Warwick earlier this year. The value of the drugs is believed to be around $100,000.
A 58-year-old Victorian man has been charged with possessing dangerous drugs, supplying dangerous drugs and possessing anything used in the commission of crime. He is expected to appear in the Warwick Magistrates’ Court on Monday 23 November.
