Farm walk for ecology

NORMA O’Hara Murphy will host a farm walk on farm ecology at her Bony Mountain property next week.
As part of the walk, Norma will share her years of experience.
Since 1998 she has had a busy planting schedule and will discuss what has and hasn’t worked from her and her family’s experience.
Ecologist at Balance! Environmental, Greg Ford, will be the farm walk leader.
“Greg will walk us through the landscape identifying crucial refuge points for wildlife and discuss how to incorporate a variety of habitats on your property to encourage a healthy and diverse wildlife population,” Norma said.
It is supported by a range of initiatives including Cultivating Prosperity, an initiative of the Southern Downs Regional Council and funded by the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services under the Community Drought Support funding program.
The walk will be held on Friday 16 October from 4pm-7pm at 1107 Upper Wheatvale Road, Bony Mountain.
There will be a free barbecue dinner, a bird identification walk and demonstrations on bat calls and release.
