Caution call after crash

POLICE urge caution on the roads over the school holidays when there is additional traffic on our local roads.
The warning comes after Stanthorpe police and Emergency Services were called to a two-vehicle crash on Thursday at the intersection of Middleton Road with the New England Highway in Cottonvale.
Both vehicles were extensively damaged and required towing from the scene. While there was no serious injuries, a male driver and female passenger were taken to Stanthorpe Hospital for medical examination.
Stanthorpe police Sergeant Damian Grace said the incident occurred when a blue Commodore utility attempted to turn onto the highway directly in front of an already northbound driven Toyota 4 wheel drive.
“In this case, it was only fortunate that the injuries were not more serious through what is apparent as a totally avoidable incident,“ Sgt Grace said.
