COLOUR Run organiser Kayla Jordan is still basking in the glory of a successful fund-raising mission.
The Stanthorpe local’s rainbow run for a cure drew about 250 runners, which pitted participants against colour “throwers“ along a 2.5 kilometre or five kilometre stretch of Quart Pot Creek.
“It was a fantastic day,” she said.
“Everyone I spoke to said they absolutely loved it and we raised about $6300 for type one diabetes research.”
Ms Jordan, who co-ordinated the event in a bid to help her two-year-old nephew CJ who suffers from the disease, said she would look to make the run an annual fixture.
She said her sister, CJ’s mum, was over the moon and praised the community’s generosity.
“I’ve completely blown the target of $2500 that she gave me – she couldn’t be happier.“
