Youth on the Edge

THE youth event, Edgefest, held at Warwick at the weekend has been hailed a success.
Southern Downs Regional Council Youth Development Officer Hailey Cosh said she and the organising crew were “both happy with the event” and the level of community involvement.
She said the main function of the day was to give young people from the recent Youth Music Industry Program a place to highlight the skills they had learned over the past six months in the fields of DJaying, performance and sound.
She said it was also a chance to launch the second round of the program which starts this week.
As well as the students, who performed throughout the day, the event included face-painting, a barbecue run by the Warwick Gymnastics Club and stalls from the Warwick Collective, SDIEA, and Headspace. Darling Downs Laser Skirmisth also set up an arena.
The event was part of the Edge program, funded with the help of Arts Queensland and the council.
