MEMBER for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall has visited Bonshaw Public School, right on the Queensland border and one of the smallest schools in the electorate, to attend an Education Week assembly.
Mr Marshall said the special events held during the week had helped turn the focus of the community on public schools and inspire students to work hard and chase their dreams.
“It was a pleasure to address the students at Bonshaw – it’s a very small school with only nine students but there is certainly nothing small about the effort the students put into their school work or their participation in regional sporting events,” Mr Marshall said.
“At the last zone sports meet, every student from Bonshaw entered every track event – a huge effort and they are to be commended for their enthusiasm and stamina.”
Mr Marshall also presented classroom awards to students and enjoyed a musical presentation by the students prepared specially for their weekly assembly.
