STANTHORPE musician Peter Salata has had a song nominated for the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
The country music performer teamed up with Michelle Walker, who lives in Tully, north Queensland, to write Bits and Pieces.
The pair played gigs in north Queensland earlier this year.
“I had the chorus and the chords in my head and Michelle came in and helped me with some verses,” Mr Salata said.
The song has made the cut as one of the top-five songs nominated for the Songwriter’s Salute Awards organised by the Tamworth Songwriters’ Association.
Bits and Pieces is nominated in the comedy/novelty section of the awards.
Mr Salata is a previous winner for male vocal at Tamworth.
The awards will be announced during a concert at Tamworth’s Longyard Hotel from 7pm on 21 January.
