Three hospitalised after head-on smash

A WOMAN was thrown from her car and two others were injured in a devastating head-on crash on the New England Highway on Tuesday.
RACQ CareFlight Rescue tasked both its Gold Coast and Toowoomba helicopters to the crash scene south of Dalveen just after 11am.
The female passenger of a white four-wheel drive suffered multiple injuries after she was ejected from the car and thrown nine metres into the air.
She was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.
Her condition is unknown.
The driver of the white four-wheel drive sustained suspected neck injuries and was flown by the second helicopter to Toowoomba Base Hospital.
A female driver in the red vehicle, whose injuries are unknown, was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Hospital by the EMQ helicopter.
Motorists were diverted through Cottonvale for most of the day.
